To fear or not to fear

This set of 18 photographs is a reflection about lenguage and the symbolic perception on culture in mass media expressions made in english, how this expressions stablish notions on people and countries forgetting, in my interest the activities of habitants that contribute and define life in communities.The very complexity on how social comunities interact with their land and themselves have a secondary importance in the media relationships, that trascend boundaries. The photographs of the colombian contryside near the capital Bogota ilustrate true identities in the the word-play on translation of sentences that have become misleading to identify clearly nations and citizens. In literal translation there is the encounter true meanings, which take me to belive in to fear or not fear in this country Colombia, just as Shakespeare "to be or not be" what is and what is not, realities in the simplicity of lifestyles and beliefs, inmerese in the dualism taken by systems of communication.
On painting, zen and contemplation
I explore the introspection of common day activities notions and perceptions of simple things that become obvious in daily routines, in contemplative state, I examine the various perceptions and relationships we establish with the notion of time present and the new media values that can change them, developing those issues with different creativity mediums like video reflecting on the contemporary visual society of today that has acquired video like a direct representation of the present , in painting I show how contemplation images can be seen entering in to the pixels and fields of a video screen. Challenging video to become paint showing the colors of a pixel that’s surreal in it’s enlarge simplicity that can only be seen in we observe the real life as it is, the present.

There are three principal operations of the man, to know, act and make. with three corresponding orders of operation: knowledge, the activity, factivity. The three orders are carried out in the form of three principal disciplines in which all the operations of the man are understood: Science, morals, and art. It is while being based on this quotation that Adriana Ospina Mesa manages to combine morals, art and science in order to deliver to us works of art more and more attaching. Holder of a diploma post-graduated in communication with a concentration in electronic media and artistic creation with the University Los the Andes in Colombia, and professor of esthetics to the faculty of Design and Architecture of the university Pontificia Javeriana of Bogota, Adriana developpes an artistic concept which combines at the same time the installation, video, drawing and painting. Artistic creations of Adriana Ospina Mesa are various. Interactive installation with painting on fabric, it delivers its agitations to us. In 2005, it gained in the New York Film and Vid?o Festival the first price of video category art for its short film entitled: Residentes in the v?a f?rrea. With through this work, it delivers to us, in a laps of time, the sufferings and the aspirations of its people. Adriana uses at the same time for its fabrics of the neoplastic compositions close to Piet Mondrian and those of Robert Delaunay. Certain fabrics of Adriana reflect the geometric abstraction and others the figurative expressive one in order to enrich its artistic universe it will not hesitate to go until Rayographie.(the photography reinvented by Man Ray). Creation is before a whole business of spirit. And Adriana understood very early.
